Deaf Living Sober Services

Deaf Can Inc. Deaf Living Sober (DLS) program provides
recovery support services to Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing
Adults in Twin Cities Metro area.

One-to-One Support:

We have Deaf and ASL fluent Peer Recovery Specialists (PRS) who are trained
to provide sober coaching and recovery support services. PRS works with individuals
who experiences Substance Use issues or undesired behaviors from Addictions. We
provide a safe environment and teach people the skills necessary to live, work, and
socialize in a sober community.

Our PRS can provide 1:1 recovery support services to people in community. That
includes individual instruction or guidance on self-care, how to set recovery goals
and how to achieve or maintain them. To set up a 1:1 session contact the manager
at herman.deafcan@gmail.com.

Group Recovery Meetings:

There is a recovery support group meeting that meets every week. This group is called
Fun ASL Recovery (FAR club) and primarily meets on Wednesday nights at Charles
Thompson Hall on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  Sometimes the group
meets at a restaurant or other locations. We discuss recovery principles and do fun
social activities together and learn how to have fun in a healthy way and without using chemicals. For more information, contact michaelc.deafcan@gmail.com.
